As a Deputy Communications Director 2, you will craft high-level content including news releases, op-eds, speeches, and public health materials, translating complex data into clear narratives for the public. Serving as a primary media contact, you will manage daily inquiries, coordinate expert interviews, and maintain media databases. You will be responsible for the creation and distribution of diverse informational tools, from fact sheets and brochures to videos and manuals, ensuring consistent messaging across all internal and external channels. Additionally, you will oversee the logistics and execution of news conferences and town halls, collaborating with state agencies and providing critical research briefings to senior staff. You will manage the technical dissemination of news via software such as Meltwater, update the department's digital newsroom, and capture original photography and video of agency activities. By translating policy into public understanding, you will ensure the agency's mission remains transparent and accessible to local, state, and national audiences.
