ROLE SUMMARY
· The colleague will manage several Global Hospital & Biosimilars (GH&B) Business Unit global supply chains brands. A successful Brand Supply Lead (BSL) actively drives the organizational and supply vision for GH&B brands in close partnership with the Product Portfolio Leader (PPL), owns end-to-end supply chain management, acts as a strategic partner to stakeholders, ensures “system based planning”, and if necessary effectively identifies and escalates issues concerning supply chain health.
A BSL proactively orchestrates supply chain operations within the network to optimize service, cost, and inventory. Activities include (but are not limited to) optimizing decisions within the supply chain design, understanding and managing impacts of network change, monitoring performance to plan, validating global demand signals, assisting with financial analysis, and managing and reacting to issues. The role involves a significant amount of collaboration with the GH&B and GBM Ops network, External Supply, and other PGS & Pfizer stakeholders. A BSL will also be required to participate and lead projects for process / performance improvement purposes, which include project plan development, managing task completions, identifying constraints / risks, managing solutions, and ensuring timely completion of project(s).
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Influence Product Design / Supply Vision. Actively participate on product teams, defining and driving supply-specific vision and influencing overall product strategy. Work with the PPL and TTL to identify opportunities and projects that will deliver value.
Convert Product Design to Operating Plan. Craft operating principles and parameters that optimize supply within the product design and network (portfolio segmentation, E2E inventory targets, dual source decisions, etc.).
Incorporate Network Change into Operating Plan. Understand network change (network design activity, new API generations, source changes, etc.) and how it will impact the base operating plan. Create a management strategy and adapt the operating plan to incorporate the changes in network Master Data (MD).
Monitor / Manage / Align Performance vs Plan. Monitor supply system performance vs. plan via various forums (S&OP, cross-site planning calls, site T3, etc.).
Validate E2E Demand / Volume Change. Understand forward-looking volume risks / potential drive of change, understand actual volume changes, and ensure each supply chain node is aware / planning / adapting to demand changes.
Convert Volume to Financials. Assist GH&B Ops and PGS Finance in creating the base budget, accurately forecasting at each LE/EB, and in articulating volume impacts on PGS financial projections.
Manage / React to Issues. Lead product allocation activities, own supply alerts, explain supply issues / outlook to Regional Supply / Commercial / etc., troubleshoot system issues, assist with activities outside defined scope when needed, etc.
Supply Chain Execution. Improve execution efficiency through schedule attainment, drive cost and inventory improvements, set appropriate planning horizons, and understand impacts on site execution and customer service. Optimize SC agreements (MOQ’s, shelf-life, etc.) to balance market-site efficiency trade-offs.
Optimize E2E Inventory. Optimize and rigor-test inventory submissions. Identify opportunities for inventory reductions (e.g., lead-time variability, etc.). Develop long-term (3-year) projection.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with at least 6 years of experience; OR a master's degree with at least 5 years of experience; OR a PhD with 1+ years of experience.
Cross-functional supply chain / manufacturing experience: Significant supply chain/manufacturing experience at various levels, (e.g. materials manager, demand manager); strong cross-functional relationships
Experience within the pharmaceutical or related industries; general understanding of various industry standard operating procedures and policies.
Systems knowledge: Knowledge of planning systems in general is a basic pre-requisite.
Knowledge of Supply Chain processes: extensive knowledge of all supply chain processes; experience running S&OP
Ability to work with a lot of variables and data and synthesize to drive management decision making
An analytically driven mindset and the ability to concisely present data to senior leaders
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with planning, producing, and/or managing GH&B products.
Extensive experience in SAP ECC / SNP / PP/DS or Kinaxis will be a significant benefit.
Training / certification in materials management, inventory / production control, or supply chain preferred. APICS qualification would be a benefit.
